Xiaomi is again in demand this time with the launch of the next device from it’s Android One segment. Xiaomi Mi A1 was the first device in the android one segment from Xiaomi and the device was proved worthy for it’s price and the quickly build satisfied customer chain, so this year Xiaomi is back with two devices in the Android One lineup the Mi A2 and Mi A2 lite. The Mi A2 doens’t have a headphone jack which as a budget phone should have. Even low end devices are now losing 3.5mm jack. Both the devices are priced as the budget devices and sports some of the best mid range specifications.
The cheaper version which is the Mi A2 lite comes thicker with 8.75 mm with screen ratio of 19:9, a Snapdragon 625 processor, 12- and 5-megapixel primary camera, 5-megapixel front camera with flash, micro USB port, a bigger 4,000 mAh battery and a notch on the face. The phone is available upto 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage.
Both the phones comes with stripped version of Android Oreo 8.1 and should provide a solid stock Android experience. The better option as a budget phone here would be the Mi A2 lite as there is no notch for those who doesn’t have a taste for it. It also has a bigger battery, a headphone jack and still powerful Snapdragon 625 processor but the tradeoffs would be USB C, bigger display, improved cameras and the overall build quality. The surprising element here is that Xiaomi decided to give more screen to the cheaper variant while the Mi A2 has 18:9 aspect ratio.
The phones are launching first in Spain, following the country’s expansion into the country last year. The Mi A2 4GB and 32GB storage costs for around Rs. 20,000, for 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage it costs for Rs. 22,000 and for the 6GB RAm and 128GB storage for a whopping of Rs. 28,000. The Mi A2 lite for the 3GB/32GB will cost around Rs. 14,000 and the 4GB/64GB version for around rs. 17,000. The Indian market will be a priority for Xiaomi as the previous model Mi A1 was focused here.
